Dressing in Luxurious Lace on Your Wedding Day

Jessie and Alex had a simple and relaxed garden ceremony with their nearest and dearest Couple: Jessie & Alex Location: Woy Woy Fisherman's Wharf After 10 years together, Alex finally popped the big question to Jessie. The couple had left their tiny apartment in Sydney’s inner-city Paddington for coastal life on the Central Coast where they both grew up. “I had come home from work one afternoon and Alex was persistent on trying to get me to go for a walk to the beach with our dog,” recalls Jessie. “I fought it the majority of the way there because all I wanted to do after a long day at work was sit down with a glass of red! Once we got there, I walked ahead with our dog until I noticed Alex lingering behind. I turned around to fi nd him awkwardly standing a few metres behind us with a big ‘will you marry me’ written in the sand, with a ring box front and centre. Cue flailing hands, a few expletives and a lot of me yelling ‘are you joking’! It was fantastic timing because we found out we were pregnant not long after.” The couple married at Pearl Beach Arboretum where Jessie wore a beautiful custom corded-lace Ziolkowski gown. “I was sure I knew the dress I was going with but I saw this particular design in a wedding magazine and knew it was the one. Celyna was amazing to deal with and incredible with fitting me in with only a few months until the wedding!” says Jessie. A cocktail reception was held at Woy Woy Fishermen’s Wharf where the party danced the night away. Guests dined on bloody Mary oyster shots, peach Bellinis, fresh prawns and seafood, tapas, fish tacos, salt-and-pepper squid, barramundi rolls, boxed fi sh and chips and seafood paella. Jessie says her day was absolutely amazing. “The ceremony was outdoors so rain was a major factor, especially when a storm blew in the night before,” she says. “Waking up to the sun the day of the wedding really set the tone and mood for the whole day. The ceremony was intimate, informal and we had set up music and a bar in the clearing to relax while we took photos and caught up with everyone before we made our way to the reception. The food, wine, band and atmosphere at the restaurant were all amazing and while there were a few bits and pieces that didn’t go exactly to plan, the day was as close to perfect as you could get.” Bride's Advice: “Don’t sweat the small the stuff. It’s so easy to get caught up in the wedding hype. Simplify the day and make it about the two of you and what you want out of it. We wanted one big party and that’s exactly what we had.”

When a convent sets the perfect scene

This beautiful couple’s wedding was a magical day in Daylesford. Couple: Carly and Mark Location: The Convent Gallery After seven years of dating, Mark proposed to Carly in Central Park, New York, while they were travelling through the United States. The couple spent 16 months planning their dream wedding, held at The Convent Gallery. With an intimate ceremony and reception in mind, the couple immediately knew after their fi rst visit that The Convent Gallery was the perfect venue for them. It inspired a vintage wedding theme with a gold and ivory colour scheme reflected throughout the styling. Family was an important element of the celebrations for Carly and Mark, who spent the morning of their special day preparing with their respective families. Both included their sisters and brothers in their bridal parties as a true representation of two families coming together. Although the couple planned for a wet wedding, it turned out to be a beautiful sunny day. Wedding pictures were taken by Cam Grove photography throughout the beautiful venue as the couple embraced the gorgeous weather. Bride's Advice: “Make sure you take it all in. Allow plenty of time to get ready in the morning so you can relax and enjoy the moment — this is also a special part of your day! Ensure you include the people that mean the most to you in your preparations and choose people who will be calm and supportive (including suppliers; it was important to me that my hair and makeup artists were lovely people to be around). Book your suppliers early.”
