Why Ivory and Orange is the Perfect Colour Combo

A modern and elegant wedding by the sea Couple: Caroline & Ben Location: The Stokehouse Caroline and Ben first met through a mutual friend at university. After a few false starts, the pair has now been together for nine years. “I came home from work one Friday evening to find Ben on bended knee, a stand-in ring in hand (we went shopping for the engagement ring together later) and a bottle of bubbles in the fridge. He had booked a romantic dinner and we celebrated into the night,” says Caroline. With the help of their wedding vendors, whom were friends of the couple through work connections, they decided to keep their wedding modern and elegant. No strict theme was set, only a cheerful colour scheme of orange and ivory. Caroline wore an ivory high-neck dress by J Crew with contrasting orange peep-toe heels by Salvatore Ferragamo. The couple strayed away from traditional superstitions and got ready together on the day of their wedding. Photographs by Mark Rossetto of Enhance Studios were taken prior to the ceremony to alleviate any added stress. “Mark was fantastic and very easy to work with. He listened to our ideas and provided some great advice on how the day would roll out. We are really happy with the photos and our package, and can’t wait to get the album,” says Caroline. The ceremony and reception were held at the Stokehouse and the couple was lucky to enjoy a bright clear-blue sky. The guests enjoyed an à la carte menu and danced the night away on the Stokehouse balcony. After all of the celebrations, the newlyweds, together with their immediate families, spent the evening at the Grand Hyatt and enjoyed breakfast together the next morning. “It was fabulous to relive the day with the people we love, ” says Caroline. Bride's Advice: “Keep it simple! Take what you want from tradition, but feel free to think outside the box. Don’t sweat the small stuff and roll with the day.
