Pulling off the Princess Theme

This couple enjoyed the perfect day filled with traditional cultural touches, love and romance Couple: Nichanan & Arongkorn Location: L'aqua Terrace Room, Cockle Bay Wharf Nichanan and Aron met through a mutual friend and soon after began communicating and sharing activities such as scuba-diving at the Great Barrier Reef, and visiting theme parks on the Gold Coast. The couple also took an overseas holiday to Japan together. After two years of dating, Aron surprised Nichanan by proposing while on a skiing holiday in Perisher, Snowy Mountains. The couple chose to have a traditional Thai ceremony, with the bridal couple’s parents, bridesmaids, MC and also some guests wearing traditional Thai dress. The ceremony included traditional Thai music, making the day a wonderful celebration of love and culture. The newlyweds wanted to do everything in a sweet, fun and romantic way. “We loved our flower arrangement with white, pink and purple flowers that featured a high twisted tree branch in the vase next to tealight candles on the table as guests entered,” says Nichanan. At the entrance to the reception, a musician played acoustic love songs while guests arrived to create a romantic atmosphere inside the room. “We chose the L’Aqua Terrace Room because it came with a big and long balcony and beautiful Darling Harbour views, which was great for summer. It turned out to be an excellent choice because the food was really delicious and the staff very friendly.” Bride's Advice: “Take it easy and do everything with love. Let go and remember to smile like you mean it. Be happy and enjoy your wonderful day. Get a good photographer and videographer — so many things happen on the day that you will forget so it was really nice to relive the day through our pictures and video and to see all of our friends and family having such a good time together.”

The Perfect Wedding Reception Venue on Sydney's Harbour

We get some quick-fire planning advice from Steven Cesarano, Doltone House group wedding manager and specialist. What advice do you have for couples planning a wedding? There seems to be a lot of “dos” and a lot of lists, but I have some “don’ts” when it comes to planning a wedding. Many couples pre-plan the wedding by setting a date before they make enquiries. But what if by setting the date first, they are ruling out the top options — not just for venues but for stationery, flowers, photographers? Or they might have found a good deal for a honeymoon, but you can go on a holiday any time. You will only get married once. It is a very unique experience and it’s best to approach it with a more open and flexible mind. I also really recommend that you make sure you align yourself with the right people. What trends have you noticed in weddings recently? The biggest trend at the moment is just how aware modern couples are of the market and what is available. People are full of ideas now. Trends come down to your taste and how adventurous you are. Should the theme or venue come first? In my opinion, selecting the venue is top of the list. From there, you are going to get a sense of the natural features available for theming and you can form partnerships to create whatever magical ideas you have in mind. Every couple wants to tell their story so before you look at what’s out there in the market, look within yourself. You are the most unique aspect of the wedding. Draw from who you are.

Flower girls are always so cute! Every little girl dreams of flower girls and they all want to be one... at least once in their lives! Yet what is that makes flower girls so charming and delightful. Could it be those dresses that flower girls wear so adorably, or could it be that flower girls are just simply magical themselves! If we're really honest, we know that really, flower girls just want to be flower girls because it makes them feel like a princess for the day! So who are we to burst their dreams... if our flower girls want to be princesses for the day our flower girls need to be dressed accordingly! But apart from looking and being the little sweetheart of the show (alongside yourself), your flower girls outfits need to shine and sparkle as only cute little flower girls outfits should.

What Do My Darling Flower Girls Need?

It goes without say that flower girls need dresses! There are so many different styles and colours to choose from and if you have plumped for more than one of those beautiful flower girls then you have the delightful choice of same style/alternative styles, just like your bridesmaids! Yet always remember; two things are VITAL when choosing dresses for flower girls!

  1. Flower girls dresses don't have to be the same colour as yours
  2. Make sure that your flower girls are comfortable
  3. Make sure that you pay careful attention to flower girls dresses that are too long or too itchy, too chilly or too heavy and whatever you do, make sure that their knickers are not bright pink polka dots and showing through for all and sundry to see!

Flower girls love pretty new things and nothing is nicer then a cute pair of flower girls shoes! Yet you will need to make sure that they are a good fit and not hurting those cute flower girls pinkies on the day! Flattering flats or even a simple sandal are perfect for those little darlings!

Flower Girls Accessories
Every bride needs flower girls and we all know that flower girls need accessories! Why wouldn't they... What perfect way to finish off those adorable flower girls outfits by giving them some sparkle and shine. So why not give your flower girls something for their hair like a simple barette or maybe a tiara. Alternatively, a cute flower or headband is always so captivating! And nothing beats a parasol at a summer wedding and it will give your flower girls something to take home and cherish forever... just like their memories of your perfect day!
