A Stunning Reception Venue by the Harbour

This happy couple celebrated against the backdrop of Sydney’s harbour with loved ones surrounding them. Couple: Parwaiz & Sophia Location: Doltone House, Darling Island Wharf, Pyrmont Parwaiz and Sophia met many years ago through some mutual friends, ended up working together for a while and were best friends before anything else. The proposal was very romantic. Parwaiz got down on one knee and proposed while the couple was out in Sydney’s Milsons Point right under the Harbour Bridge. The beautiful couple wanted their wedding to be a formal affair. They chose a black-and-white colour scheme for the reception and kept all the flowers white. On a day-to-day basis, the couple are pretty laid back and casual, so they wanted to show a more sophisticated and mature side to their personalities. “We are both quite traditional when it comes to weddings and love the idea of getting dressed up for the occasion. Saying that, our main aim was to keep everything very clean, classic and elegant,” says Sophia. “We knew from the beginning that we would be looking at approximately 300-plus people for our reception,” says Sophia. “We both have big families and large friendship circles.” The many guests congregated to celebrate the love between the happy newlyweds at The Eternal Garden, Curzon Hall in Marsfi eld, and afterwards moved to Doltone House, Darling Island Wharf, Pyrmont, to celebrate. Guests dined on antipasto platters, pumpkin and ricotta ravioli, rigatoni ragu, and grain-fed sirloin, chicken breast with caponata vegetables, followed by a dessert of warm chocolate fondant and vanilla crème brûlée. Bride's Advice: “Think of the day as one big party and take the time to enjoy yourself. The whole day goes by so quickly and before you know it, it’s all over. Tell your partner how beautiful or handsome they look and just relax! All the hard work of planning this big day is over and it’s time to just take it in and enjoy.”
