Pulling off the Princess Theme

This couple enjoyed the perfect day filled with traditional cultural touches, love and romance Couple: Nichanan & Arongkorn Location: L'aqua Terrace Room, Cockle Bay Wharf Nichanan and Aron met through a mutual friend and soon after began communicating and sharing activities such as scuba-diving at the Great Barrier Reef, and visiting theme parks on the Gold Coast. The couple also took an overseas holiday to Japan together. After two years of dating, Aron surprised Nichanan by proposing while on a skiing holiday in Perisher, Snowy Mountains. The couple chose to have a traditional Thai ceremony, with the bridal couple’s parents, bridesmaids, MC and also some guests wearing traditional Thai dress. The ceremony included traditional Thai music, making the day a wonderful celebration of love and culture. The newlyweds wanted to do everything in a sweet, fun and romantic way. “We loved our flower arrangement with white, pink and purple flowers that featured a high twisted tree branch in the vase next to tealight candles on the table as guests entered,” says Nichanan. At the entrance to the reception, a musician played acoustic love songs while guests arrived to create a romantic atmosphere inside the room. “We chose the L’Aqua Terrace Room because it came with a big and long balcony and beautiful Darling Harbour views, which was great for summer. It turned out to be an excellent choice because the food was really delicious and the staff very friendly.” Bride's Advice: “Take it easy and do everything with love. Let go and remember to smile like you mean it. Be happy and enjoy your wonderful day. Get a good photographer and videographer — so many things happen on the day that you will forget so it was really nice to relive the day through our pictures and video and to see all of our friends and family having such a good time together.”

The Perfect Vintage Dress

These two lovebirds had a beautiful vintage-inspired family wedding to celebrate their union Couple: Josephine & Nick Location: Doltone House, Sydney Nick and Josephine met at the age of six when they both attended the same primary school. It wasn’t until much later, after they finished high school, that they reconnected and fell in love. “We have been inseparable ever since,” says Josephine. The couple spent only eight months of planning and wed in front of 160 guests at St Peter Chanel Catholic Church in Hunter’s Hill. The bride wore a stunning made-to-measure Louise Alvarez silk satin gown with a silk chiffon circular skirt. The bodice had French corded lace detailing and sat just off the shoulder. “A highlight for me as a bride was working with Louise and her staff. Their beautiful designs made creating my gorgeous gown so easy. They understood my desire for simple elegance and the gown complemented my beautiful bridesmaids in their soft silk dresses. It was a wonderful and positive experience,” says Josephine. The newlyweds and their guests partied the night away at their gorgeous classic vintage-themed reception at Doltone House, Darling Island Wharf. They dined on appetisers of gourmet antipasto, fresh king prawns and smoked salmon; had mains of barramundi and beef medallions; and enjoyed vanilla crème brûlée, trios of chocolate, wild berry compote and amaretti crumble for dessert. Bride's Advice: “The choices available when planning a wedding can be overwhelming, so try to plan a little at a time but enjoy every moment of it.”
