The perfect setting for a vintage union

This fun-loving couple had a relaxed, autumn-inspired wedding with quirky touches Couple: Anna & Ellis Location: Oliveto Ristorante & Bar, Rhodes Anna and Ellis met through mutual friends. After dating for some time, Ellis proposed on a Saturday morning by surprising Anna with breakfast in bed bright and early at 5.30am. “I was super nervous and couldn’t sleep!” says Ellis. After a 14-month engagement, the happy couple were wed in front of their close family and friends at St Bede’s Catholic Church in Pyrmont. Anna walked down the aisle in a latte-coloured lace top and silk chiffon skirt from Personalised Weddings Couture and gorgeous green Alexander McQueen heels. The relaxed, quirky and fun wedding reflected the couple’s personalities perfectly. The pair held their reception at Oliveto Ristorante and Bar near the water, where their 88 guests dined on canapés of prosciutto with rockmelon, arancini with mixed mushrooms and provolone, rare roast beef panini with onion jam, rocket and cherry tomato and pizza crust with black olive tapenade, eggplant and tomato salsa. The main dishes served were barramundi fillet with smoked eggplant purée, sautéed spinach and Dutch carrots, and beef eye fillet with parsnip purée and chicory drizzled with porcini mushroom jus. “We had so much fun. We were both beaming from ear to ear. We enjoyed every bit of it, especially our favourite flavour (white chocolate and salted caramel) at Gelato Messina being renamed Anna & Ellis for the day for our after-ceremony treat,” says Anna. Bride's Advice: “Relax and take it all in. Pinch yourself because it all goes too quickly.”
