A Gown To Love At First Sight

A chance glance was a green light for Linda and Costa’s love story Couple: Linda & Costa Location: Doltone House, Sylvania Waters Linda and Costa’s eyes first met when driving, while stopped at a set of traffic lights. It was a classic case of “love at first sight” and the couple have been inseparable since. Linda opted for a head-turning Suzanna Blazevic-designed gown by Personalised Weddings Couture, which the bride says was “the dress of my dreams”. The strapless, princess-style gown featured a stunning crystal-beaded bodice and a voluptuous skirt. Linda also wore a gorgeous hair piece from Personalised Weddings Couture. Given a colour scheme of slate brown and dusty pink, the bridesmaids were allowed to choose their own dresses, which were bought from Forever New. The couple chose a romantic theme filled with flowers and the colour pink. “Costa was worried about my love for all things pink, but it came together beautifully on the day,” says the bride. The reception for 170 guests at Doltone House was a sit-down dinner fit for kings, with entertainment by bouzouki player Tommy Tsonis and belly dancers. Bride's Advice: “If people want to help, let them.”

Celebrating Love With A Vintage Themed Wedding

This couple celebrated their union with their closest friends and family Couple: Julie and James Location: Cleveland Winery, Lancefield. Julie and James first met while walking along the Yarra River, both on their way to the Australian Open, a walk they will always remember. James proposed to Julie at a beach picnic in Esperance, Western Australia. On the beautiful white sand he had written the words, “I love you”. Of course, Julie said yes. With a united love of cooking and the outdoors, Julie and James decided on a vintage rustic theme with a black, white, grey and green colour scheme. They incorporated the theme into their styling with fresh herbs in wooden boxes as centrepieces — specially made by Julie’s dad, green apples in vintage glass bowls and a candy bar. Polaroid cameras were also included for guests to snap their happy moments of the special day. The venue was the first big decision to make and while originally being from Melbourne, the couple currently live in Western Australia. They relied heavily on correspondence and research to source their perfect space in Melbourne. Cleveland Winery was their chosen venue, which went above and beyond to ensure this special day was everything Julie and James had dreamed of. The venue provided magnificent rooms with spectacular views for the reception and even arranged accommodation for interstate guests. According to Julie, “It was an amazing experience. You have to pinch yourself to realise what is happening — so many great moments to share and to top it off you’re marrying your loved one.” Bride's Advice: “Take a moment on the day — the time flies by so quickly. Appreciate every minute and don’t sweat the small stuff; it’s not important and no one notices. Just laugh and enjoy the time with your family and friends.”
