Oxygenetix breathable foundation was initially created for movie stars to camoufl age the signs of cosmetic procedures under the harshest of studio lights. However, it was soon discovered that Oxygenetix, which uses a super-charged deepmoisturising oxygen complex, Ceravitae, comprising hyaluronic acid and soothing aloe vera, sped up the healing process too. This means that it is also effective for wounds, scars, rashes, injuries, bruises, rosacea, eczema and psoriasis, as well as sensitive, ulcerated, painful or cracked, dry skin. The breathable makeup protects and improves skin tone.

Importantly, the non-drying, protective makeup allows for the retention of natural fluids and can be worn 24 hours a day and won’t come off on clothes or sheets. This means you can cuddle up to your new husband on your wedding day without worrying about spoiling his suit!

Junia Kerr, owner of holistic salon Sage Beauty,, gives her top tips for glowing skin:

  1. Keep your skin toned and hydrated through summer by applying a goodquality jojoba oil beneath your moisturiser. I recommend either MV Organic Skincare Pure Jojoba oil or KORA Organics Luxurious Rosehip oil.
  2. Have a good protein shake with blueberries and banana for breakfast. This will stop your 3pm sugar craving and keep your energy levels up till lunch so you won’t feel the need to snack on food that may not be so good for you.
  3. If your skin is super dry, take a lot of fish oil — I mean a lot. A practitioneronly brand fish oil such as Metagenics or BioCeuticals will be reliable and good quality.
  4. Apply a moisturising mask to your skin fortnightly to keep your skin hydrated and supple. I recommend Dr Hauschka Moisturizing mask or KORA Organics Hydrating mask.
  5. Get up and go for a run or a brisk walk outdoors before work. This will get your metabolism going and shake out the cobwebs. Rain, hail or shine, get out there into nature.
  6. Check the condition of your nails to see if you are defi cient in zinc, calcium or other minerals. Ridges that go across your nails usually indicate protein defi ciency. Ask your naturopath for recommended supplements and watch your skin improve.

Makeup artist Simone Smith-Downing ( shares her secrets from the shoot.

What products did you use?
“I used Mac Peach Blossom lipstick, Mac Boldly Bare lip pencil and a peach blush. It’s all soft browns, bronze and peach tones.”

What inspired this look?
“We were inspired by a Calvin Klein look and it developed into more of a ’50s style. It is fresh and natural but with defi ned eyes to stand out under the heavy fringe.”

What are a bride’s makeup must-haves?
“Every bride should have waterproof eyeliner and mascara. The last thing you want is to tear up and look like you have black eyes! I recommend Bobby Brown Long-Wear gel eyeliner. Also, brides should always drink a lot of water and have a good skincare routine in the lead-up to the wedding.”
