Taking inspiration from Ancient Greek mythology, Kristian Aadnevik’s runway Spring/Summer 2015 Collection, which showcased at London Fashion Week, is intended for the strong and sensual woman. The hair look features a series of tight topknots that are followed by long luscious waves; the inspiration of which was taken from the soft and crystalline blue seas around Mykonos. Create a similar look by first using Moroccanoil Treatment, then Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream, followed by Moroccanoil Styling Gel. Add some Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine and hold in place with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray. moroccanoil.com
Ae’lkemi’s runway show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia featured bold hues of black, red and white calling for a softer makeup look. Majella Wirth of Bodyography Professional Cosmetics says, “The image that Ae’lkemi wanted to go for was a very natural, nude look with a very dewy texture and intense, big eyebrows and really solid lines. We decided on minimal eye colour, just doing a small amount in the crease of the eye. We wanted [the models] to look natural with just a little bit of gel eyeliner for the eyes. We did a nude lip — and when I say nude, I mean completely bare lips with nothing on them whatsoever. We also did nice pink, soft cheeks, but the look is focused mainly on the dewy skinand dark eyebrows.” bodyography.com.au
A POP OF COLOUR
Senior stylist for MAC, Nicole Thompson, runs through some recent makeup trends. Used on the runway by the likes of A F Vandevorst, Marni and Diane Von Furstenberg, this look features a pop of colour set against classic tones and neutrals. To create it yourself, pair a ‘90s poppy matte lipstick with a neutral shade on the eyelids. maccosmetics.com.au
GET THAT GLOW!
The Alex Perry Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia runway look took inspiration from the sports luxe trend we are seeing a lot of at the moment. Makeup was done by Nicola Snell and Tanya Tiropanis of Napoleon Perdis and was kept youthful and fresh. With a focus on fl awless, luminous skin, the team kept the lips and eyes nude. “I wanted the complexion to look absolutely perfect — like the kind of skin you’re born with... or you’re not! Everything’s about enhancing luminosity but without adding a million products. Cheeks are balanced with a touch of matte bronzer for a natural-looking flush, like the girls have just stepped off the hockey field. This look has an enviable ease to it — minimal effort, maximum impact,” says the team at Napoleon Perdis. napoleonperdis.com
