Inspiration: I used my decorating style as inspiration and also the venue for my own wedding — outdoors in the country, with the reception in a marquee. My husband and I love cycling — hence the vintage bike. It’s nice to have something personal in there!
Theme: This theme is stylish and elegant while also being relaxed. It’s eclectic so you don’t have to be too rigid with what you use.
DIY idea: Collect jars to display flowers and use old wooden fence palings to make signs.
Styling tips for brides: Don’t stress too much about sticking to a particular colour scheme. I chose things I loved and it all fell into place. For example, my husband got a black, navy and white striped bow tie for the day and we used the stripe as a motif to carry into programs and menus. Look outside the box for colour combinations or alternatively, choose one colour — say classic white — and just use lots of different textures.
