The Royal Automobile Club of Australia (RACA) is a classic venue that exudes sophistication, elegance and old-world charm. We spoke to RACA’s Rebecca Black about what makes this venue so special. Tell us about the Royal Automobile Club of Australia? Although we are a private members' club, we open our doors for a select number of weddings each year to provide guests with a beautiful, personalised and memorable experience. With unique features in each room, the club has quickly become a sought-after wedding venue and offers couples old-world charm right in the heart of the CBD. Our heritage-listed building offers a gateway to a world gone by where service, style and grace are a part of every day. What does RACA offer couples? An exclusive, heritage-listed venue, which has been in operation since 1903. The venue lends itself to elegant wedding receptions and ceremonies with an emphasis on quality and style. We offer all-inclusive packages with complimentary extras such as a DJ, accommodation for the bride and groom in our Harbour Deluxe Suite, their choice of centrepiece including decor and flowers and a menu tasting for two. Our venue is not only a unique place to have your wedding but we come with years of experience in providing quality service to our members and guests. We have a dedicated team who will take care of the couple from their initial enquiry right through to their big day and we take extra time to ensure each wedding is personalised to the couple’s specifications. What trends have you noticed recently? Couples are using many more nostalgic decor items — sometimes home-made or vintage vases, old-style candelabras and lots of flowers on the tables. Pop-up photos booths are also very popular at the moment, instead of the boxed ones with brides providing props for their guests to dress up in and just a camera on a stand.
